Scoby & Spout

Privacy policy

What we collect, what we do not, and who else is involved when you visit.

Last updated September 1, 2026

In short

Scoby & Spout has no accounts, sells nothing directly, and does not ask you for personal information unless you choose to email us or use the contact form. There is no login, no newsletter database and no advertising network placing ads on these pages.

What we collect

  • Analytics. We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages are read and which links are clicked, in aggregate. This sets cookies and processes data including a truncated IP address, device and browser type, referring page and pages viewed. We do not use it to identify individuals and have no interest in doing so.
  • Contact form and email. If you write to us we receive your name, email address and message, so that we can reply. We keep correspondence only as long as it is useful and we do not add anyone to a mailing list.
  • Affiliate click events. When you click a buy button we record that a click happened, which page it came from and which merchant it went to, so we can tell which pages are useful. That event is not tied to an identity.

What we do not do

  • Sell or rent any data about you, to anyone, for any purpose.
  • Run advertising networks or behavioral ad retargeting on this site.
  • Ask for or store payment details. We never handle a transaction.
  • Operate user accounts, profiles or logins.

Third parties

  • Google Analytics 4 — traffic measurement, subject to Google's own privacy policy.
  • Vercel — hosting. Standard server logs are processed to serve the site.
  • Amazon Associates — when you follow a buy link, Amazon sets its own cookies and applies its own privacy policy. What happens after you leave this site is governed by them, not by us. See our affiliate disclosure.
  • Microsoft Graph — delivers contact form messages to our inbox.

Cookies

The only cookies this site sets directly are those placed by Google Analytics. Third parties you click through to — Amazon in particular — set their own. You can block or clear cookies in your browser settings; nothing here requires them, and every page reads normally without them.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what data we hold about you, to ask for it to be deleted, or to object to its processing. Email info@scobyandspout.com and we will action it. In practice, unless you have written to us, we are very unlikely to hold anything that identifies you at all.

Children

This site is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.

Changes

If this policy changes, the last-updated date at the top of the page changes with it.
