What this content is
Scoby & Spout publishes editorial comparisons of equipment for making fermented drinks at home. Specifications are compiled from manufacturers' and retailers' published documents and are attributed on the page. We have not tested this hardware and we do not claim to have.
Our rankings are opinion, computed from a published rubric. They are not a certification, an endorsement, or a guarantee of anything about a product.
This is not health or safety advice
Home fermentation is a food-handling activity. Nothing on this site is medical, dietary or food-safety advice, and we are not qualified to give any of the three. You are responsible for what you make and for deciding whether it is safe to drink. If you are pregnant, immunocompromised, taking medication, or unsure for any reason, talk to a qualified professional rather than to a website.
Accuracy, and where it can fail
Specifications change without notice. A maker can revise a product, change a material or correct its own published figure at any time, and we may not learn of it immediately. Prices change constantly, which is why prices here come from a live feed and expire after 48 hours rather than being written into the page.
Always check the current specification and price with the retailer before buying. If you find something wrong here, tell us — see our corrections policy.
